In addition, I did Zentangle inspired art with my iPad using Sketchbook Pro. I was inspired by Scratchboard paper especially the one with rainbow colors.
The process is actually a lot simpler than it looks.
First I added colors using various brush tools from Sketchbook Pro. Next, I added another layer and flood filled it in black. Then, I used the eraser tool to reveal the colors underneath.
I think Zentangles are a great way to teach line, pattern, and rhythm in art classes in all grades. It’s also very relaxing which makes any art teacher happy :).
