I haven’t been posting because I got a full time teaching job teaching elementary art! Yahooooo! More to follow.
On April 27th, I headed down to the Metropolitan Museum of Art by myself. As much as I love exploring art with my friends, it’s nice to go explore a museum or a gallery by myself.
I spent most of my time in Arms and Armor and the American Wing.
Here are my sketches:
One of the things I am grateful for is being blessed with artistic talent and finding the time do pursue my art while building up my freelance and Etsy business.
Here’s my latest listing which is an ode to everything I love to doodle on the margins of my notebooks.

I’m writing to let my readers know that I am safe and sound after Hurricane Sandy. My family and I only lost power for a few days and I spent some of the time making some art.
However, the people in Lower Manhattan, Breezy Point, Staten Island, Brooklyn and New Jersey need help!
You can donate to Red Cross here.
Also, NBC Universal stations (MSNBC, NBC Network, USA, CNBC) are broadcasting a benefit concert for victims of Hurricane Sandy starting at 8pm ET. Music Acts include Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, and Jon Bon Jovi with appearances from Jimmy Fallon and Matt Lauer.

From the Metropolitan Museum of Art:
Artist Tomás Saraceno (born in Tucumán, Argentina, in 1973) has created a constellation of large, interconnected modules constructed with transparent and reflective materials for the Museum’s Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden. Visitors may enter and walk through these habitat-like, modular structures grouped in a nonlinear configuration. Over the past decade, Saraceno has established a practice of constructing habitable networks based upon complex geometries and interconnectivity that merge art, architecture, and science. The interdisciplinary project “Cloud Cities/Air Port City” is rooted in the artist’s investigation of expanding the ways in which we inhabit and experience our environment.

Yesterday, I enjoyed a wonderful evening with my friend Amy who I won’t see for a couple months because of my camp job. While I was waiting for her, I took these pictures:
Later we walked the High Line and found some pretty cool street art:
*Note: My blog postings will be pretty infrequent because I’m starting my summer job at sleep away camp :). I’ll keep everyone posted! – Abby
